Biography

Michael Ferrari and the grump

Michael J Ferrari is from Red Hook, NY. Ferrari began studying the basics of visual art in High School while attending figure drawing workshops in nearby Woodstock. For Michael, what started as an elective in high school, eventually became a full blown obsession.  After studying art briefly at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY, Michael sought out a warmer climate in South Florida.

Upon arrival in South Florida, Ferrari began attending Palm Beach State College to continue pursing foundational skills with a variety of mediums. Michael has worked with mediums ranging from scratch board to oil painting.  While studying at PBSC Ferrari won best in show at the 19th Annual Art Show with his pastel titled "In Bloom."

After graduating from PBSC, Michael moved back north and briefly attended SUNY New Paltz; there he continued studying visual art.  His focus was on composition, color theory, and mastering form; mostly, producing portraitures and landscapes paintings in oil.

Ferrari has since moved back to south Florida. Currently, Ferrari has a career in Marketing where he can leverage his creative vision. During the week he finds time to attend figure drawing classes as well as plein air events. Ferrari also has a home studio. Upcoming artwork will be displayed here and on social media. Stay Tuned!
